Our Story

More Than a Magazine:
The Movement Behind BornLatina

BornLatina started because too many Latina entrepreneurs were building extraordinary businesses without ever getting the recognition, visibility, or platform to match their work.

Co-founded by Jennette Garza and Angela Martinez, BornLatina exists to close that gap. We are a media brand and a movement.

Through magazine features, an annual honor roll, editorial storytelling, and a growing community, we give Latina founders a stage that is as serious as the work they put in every day.

This is not a vanity project. It is an editorial platform with standards, and every entrepreneur we feature earns her place in it.

Common Questions

Everything You Need to Know

Answers to the questions Latina entrepreneurs ask most before applying for recognition.

What is included in my recognition package?

Every package includes a real editorial interview, a professionally written magazine feature, and a digital placement in BornLatina Magazine that you can share for years. The Featured Entrepreneur package ($499) covers the core feature and badge assets. The Premium Feature ($999) adds a video interview, expanded story, press release template, and priority placement. The Executive Spotlight ($2,499) includes all of that plus a podcast interview, homepage spotlight, Hall of Fame listing, premium media kit, and a VIP concierge experience.

Is this a real editorial magazine or a paid directory?

BornLatina is a real editorial media brand. Our features are written and produced to editorial standards, not templated directory listings. Every entrepreneur featured in BornLatina goes through an interview process and receives a professionally crafted story. Recognition packages cover the cost of production, editorial work, photography coordination, and promotion. This is a media placement, not a vanity listing.

How do I apply for recognition or the Top 100 list?

You can apply directly through this page by filling out the form below, or visit the Get Featured page to explore all three recognition tiers in detail. For the Top 100 Latina Entrepreneurs honor roll, nominations and self-nominations open annually. Visit the Top 100 page for current nomination status and deadlines. Our editorial team reviews every application and will follow up within a few business days.

Who co-founded BornLatina and why?

BornLatina was co-founded by Jennette Garza and Angela Martinez. They created BornLatina because too many Latina entrepreneurs were building extraordinary businesses without ever receiving the recognition, visibility, or platform their work deserved. BornLatina exists to close that gap and give Latina founders editorial coverage that is as serious, polished, and credible as the businesses they have built.

How long does the process take from application to publication?

After your application is received and package selected, our editorial team will be in touch within 3 to 5 business days to schedule your interview. From interview to final publication, the process typically takes 3 to 6 weeks depending on editorial schedule and production queue. Executive Spotlight packages receive priority scheduling and concierge coordination throughout.

Can I sponsor BornLatina to reach the Latina entrepreneur audience?

Yes. BornLatina offers sponsorship and advertising opportunities for brands, organizations, and companies looking to reach Latina entrepreneurs and the communities supporting them. Visit the Sponsor page to view current sponsorship packages and partnership opportunities, or contact us directly to discuss a custom arrangement.
